STANFORD, Calif. – University of the Pacific women's tennis team continues its fall season as it competes in the ITA Regionals, hosted by Stanford, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
Pacific enters the six-day tournament following a solid performance at the Central Valley Clash in the season-opening tournament nearly two weeks ago at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Doubles play will begin the tournament on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9:00 a.m., with
Rayna Sugai and
Maya Shanok competing against Portland State's Marta Giglio and Hana Abdelhamid.
Lily Ung and
Miyu Takiguchi will also start at 9:00 a.m., with a WCC matchup against Santa Clara's Juliette Krumholz and Eliana Kook.
Indiya McLeod and
Leyanne Hirota conclude the first day of doubles play, facing Oregon's Hinata Furutani and Juliet Santitto.
McLeod will be one of the featured players in the women's singles draw, while Shanok is set to continue her final collegiate campaign and compete in her second-ever tournament for the Tigers. The women's singles draw, beginning with the round of 64, is set to kick off on Friday, Oct. 9, with Shanok taking on San Jose State's Soledad Fayos Capilla at 11:00 a.m. and McLeod against Marina Markina of Washington at 1:00 p.m.
At the Central Valley Clash, McLeod and Hirota impressed with doubles victories over Sacramento State and UC Davis throughout the tournament.
