San Francisco - On the second day of the SF State Distance Carnival, more school records fell for the Pacific Track team, as Lindsay Wourms established a new two-mile mark at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State.
Sophomore Lindsay Wourms (Camas, Wash) competed in the two mile race, finishing eighth in a school record time of 12:10.56, eclipsing the previous mark of 12:35.33 set by Grace McManus in last year's Distance Carnival event.
Sophomore Lauren Nakaso (San Ramon, Calif.) finished 12th in 12:27.16, also eclipsing the previous two-mile mark. Freshman Myra Lakdawala (Karachi, Pakistan) finished the double mile in 16th position, with a time of 12:45.57.
In the traditional mile event, sophomore Jessica Guerra (Stockton, Calif.) felt just seconds short of her time at the 2013 Distance Carnival, which established a school record, finishing in 5:58.53, good for 22nd overall.
In the 100 meter dash, freshman Ebony Ezeji (Stockton, Calif.) fell just short of her time at the Johnny Mathis Invite, finishing 31st in a time of 13.47. Freshman Matti Long (Sandy, Utah) bested her Johnny Mathis time, finishing in 13.94, good for 35th place overall. Freshman Sandra Padilla (San Jose, Calif.) notched a a time of 14.01, .07 seconds better than her performance at the Johnny Mathis Invite.
Pacific Track will return to action at the Chabot College / CSU East Bay Legacy Invitational on April 19.
