Game Notes - at Sacramento State

Making their way up I5 the Tigers will take on Northern California rival Sacramento State in a midweek contest on Tuesday at Raley Field. Pacific enters the week looking to keep it rolling after winning its opening WCC series against Pepperdine last weekend. The Hornets fell in 2-of-3 to Minnesota last weekend. The Hornets lead the all-time series 60-59 between the two squads with the Tigers having won four of the last six games, but falling in the last two.

The Tigers came up big in Malibu as they took down Pepperdine in 2-of-3 contests to earn their first WCC series victory as new members of the conference. Pepperdine captured the first game of the series, 5-3, on Friday despite the Tigers outhitting the Waves. On Saturday, So. Jake Jenkins led the way for the TIgers out of the pen as he struck out seven in 4.1 innings to earn the 6-4 victory. Taking the series on Sunday in a 7-5 win, Pacific's defense came up big in the final two innings of play, turning a pair of game-saving double plays to back the offense.
