Relays Complete Day One at MPSF Championships

Los Angeles, Calif. - Swimming the relay events at the MPSF Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Pacific swim team just missed making school history finishing just off school record time in the 200, 400, and 800 relay events. The MPSF Championships opened the four-day event at East Los Angeles College with the conference's top swimmers meeting to decide a champion.

After the women hit the pool first, the Tigers' men jumped in the water for the 200 Medley Relay where they just missed setting a new school record. For the men, Cooper Rogers, Cameron Franke, Dai Wilson, and Casey Fleming grabbed a time of 1:29.28 to finish just :06 of a second off of their own school record time of 1:29.22 set last season at the MPSF Championships.

Two events later, the men were at it again as they swam the 800 Free Relay. Led by Rogers for the second-consecutive race, the Tigers posted a time of 6:36.50. Rogers, along with Josh Cutter, Kale Ai, and Matt Stuhr, just missed the school record or the event once again as the team finished just a second off of the pace of 6:35.38 set the season prior the year end meet.

After finishing the opening day of action at the championships, the Tigers will be back in the pool in the morning of Thursday, Feb. 20 when qualifying take place for the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and 200 Free Relay.
