Women's Hoops Blitzes USF, 92-54

SAN FRANCISCO - Kendall Kenyon scored a season-high 27 points with 15 rebounds and six blocks as the Pacific women's basketball team blew out San Francisco 92-54 Saturday in the West Coast Conference opener.

Unique Coleman added 13 points and a career-high five assists in her first career start while Madison Parrish added 11 points and seven assists. GeAnna Luaulu-Summers chipped in 11

Erin Butler hit a trio of three-pointers to finish with nine points. Najah Queenland added a career-high seven points. Kristina Johnson handed out four assists with three steals to go with four rebounds and five points.

Pacific handed out 19 assists on 32 field goals and connected at a season-best clip of .533.

Kenyon's double-double was the 39th of her career, five back of Pacific's career record. Her six blocks were two shy of her own program record. She shot 11-of-18 from the field.

USF opened with a 3-0 lead on a lay-up in transition and a free throw. Kenyon tallied a pair of inside buckets and Kristina Johnson hit a floater as Pacific led 6-3. Coleman found Kenyon underneath and then posted a steal and a lay-up as the Tigers reeled off a 10-0 run over 3:23. Parrish and GeAnna Luaulu-Summers drained three-pointers as Pacific led by 11, at 16-5.

Pacific reeled off a 20-4 run over 7:47 to take a 13-point lead. Erin Butler drained a three-pointer while being fouled and after Kenyon and Parrish each finished at the rim, the Tigers led 29-12 with 7:52 to go in the first.

Gena Johnson answered back-to-back USF baskets with a three-pointer, and Luaulu-Summers added a steal and a three before Coleman dropped in a triple for 40-18 lead.

Parrish hit a three-pointer with the shot clock dwindling, and Emily Simons closed the half with a pair of free throws as the Tigers led 50-25 a the half.

Pacific shot 54 percent (19-of-35) in the first half, including 7-of-12 (58 percent) from three-point range. The Tigers committed just one first-half turnover while handing out 10 assists. The one turnover committed tied a program record for fewest in a half (matching one turnover in the second half against Utah on March 28, 2013 in the WNIT third round).

The Tigers forced seven USF turnovers, and outscored the Dons 24-18 in the paint in the
first half. Kenyon posted 15 points and seven rebounds in the first half.

In the second half, a Butler three pushed the lead to 30, as Pacific reeled off a 16-0 run. Queenland hit a three from the corner for a 70-31 lead as the Tigers held USF scoreless for over five minutes.

USF rattled off eight-straight points on a pair of threes, but Kenyon restored a 30-point lead by beating the shot clock off an inbound play.

Coleman struck from the corner for a 80-46 lead with five minutes to play. Kenyon posted an offensive rebound and was fouled with 3:53, as tempers flared leading to a pair of technicals.

The Tigers led by as many as 40, at 90-50. Pacific ground out the clock for their fifth-straight win over USF. Taylor Proctor and Zhane Dikes co-led the Dons with 13 points. Taj Winston tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Pacific scored 27 points off 16 USF turnovers.

Pacific improves to 9-3 on the season, 1-0 in WCC play. USF falls to 9-3 overall, 0-1 in WCC play.

The Tigers are back in action on Monday, at 7 p.m. at Santa Clara.
