Kristina Johnson played in (129) and won more games (84) than any other player in Pacific women’s basketball history. Helped the Tigers to four consecutive post-season appearances and three post-season victories (the program had one appearance and no post-season wins prior to her arrival). Finished her career eighth in Pacific history with 264 assists.
Senior (2014-15):
Started all 31 games and handed out 128 assists (4.1 per contest). Ranked third in the West Coast Conference in assists per game while her back-court partner Madison Parrish led the conference as the Tigers ran with two point guards on the floor all season. Ranked second in the WCC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.94). Doled out four or more assists in 19 of 31 games, as Pacific went 16-3 in those games. Averaged 6.6 points per game, while shooting .413 from the field, a .073 increase from her junior year. Posted her first career double-double with a career-high 12 assists to go with 13 points in a win at Loyola Marymount (1/31). Hit 7-of-10 from the field for a career-high 15 points in a win over Loyola Marymount (1/1). Posted eight points with four assists against just one turnover in the Tigers’ win at Gonzaga (2/21), which snapped the Bulldogs’ 44-game home court conference win streak. Handed out seven assists against just one turnover in a win at Portland (2/19). Grabbed a career-best eight rebounds in a win over Utah State (12/16).
Junior (2013-14):
Appeared in all 31 games for the Tigers, averaging 1.5 assists per game, and posting a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. She averaged 9.5 minutes per game, for 6.55 assists per 40 minutes. Increased her shooting percentage from .308 to .340 from her sophomore year to her junior campaign. Handed out multiple assists nine times, including a season-best eight agaisnt Notre Dame de Namur (11/30). Pacific went 8-1 when Johnson doled out multiple helpers, with the lone loss at Oregon in the WNIT, when Johnson dished out three assists against no turnovers in three minutes of action.Handed out six assists in a season-high 18 minutes against Cal State Stanislaus with a pair of steals. Scored a season-best seven points on multiple occassions: at Iona (11/15) and against Santa Clara (2/20). Shot 50 percent from the field or better on nine occasions. The pass-first point guard did not attempt more than five field goals in any game.
Sophomore (2012-13):
Appeared in all 35 games for Pacific, averaging 13.6 minutes per contest. Chipped in 2.3 points and 1.3 assists per game. Registered 44 assists against 39 turnovers (1.1), with 25 steals and a pair of blocks. Grabbed 57 rebounds including 19 on the offensive glass. Scored in 21 of 35 games, including a season-high eight points twice at UC Riverside (Jan. 24) and against Long Beach State (Feb. 2). Also added seven points against UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 9) and at Cal State Northridge (Feb. 14). Shot 59 percent from the field (10-of-17) over a four-game stretch from Feb. 2 to Feb. 14. Turned in 12 multi-assist games including a season-high five at Washington (Mar. 24) in Pacific''s second round WNIT win. Handed out four assists twice, at Seattle (Nov. 9) and at UC Irvine (Mar. 2). Pacific was 17-3 when Johnson registered an assist and 10-2 when she handed out multiple assists.
Freshman (2011-12):
Played all 32 games as a true freshman, starting three. Handed out 44 assists on the season (1.4 per game) as the reserve point guard. Connected on 50 percent from behind the three-point line (eight-for-16) on the season. Registered 23 steals and blocked four shots. Handed out an assist in her debut at Fairfield (Nov. 13). Registered three steals with four rebounds against Saint Mary''s (Nov. 19). Made her first start and scored her first points, with a five-point, four-assist effort at Cal State Bakersfield (Nov. 22). Set a then career-high with 10 points in 16 minutes against Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 29) on four-of-seven shooting, while handing out three assists. Posted career-highs of six assists in wins over Long Beach State (Jan. 12) and UC Irvine (Feb. 11). Scored seven points and grabbed a career-high five rebounds to go with the six dimes against LBSU (Jan. 12). Also grabbed five boards in the Tigers'' win at UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 28), with five points. Hit all five of her shots from the field and her only free throw attempt for a new career-best of 11 points in a win at Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 4). Hit two of three field goals for five points with a pair of assists in the WNIT against San Diego (Mar. 18) in the second round. The Tigers were +61 in point differential with Johnson on the floor.
High School:
Johnson, a 5-5 point guard from Santa Monica, Calif. led her squad to the Sweet 16 of the CIF State Playoffs, as Santa Monica High School upset the No. 3 team in the nation, Long Beach Poly, en route. The pass-first point guard was named First Team All-Ocean League, averaging nine points per game, including a season-high 24 points against Palos Verdes. As a junior, she led Santa Monica High School to the Division I State quarterfinals, averaging 8.0 points per game and 2.3 steals per contest while handing out 3.2 assists per game. For the season, she doled out 107 assists while recording 73 steals, all while shooting 47 percent from the field. She played summer ball for the Cal Storm Elite, an club team out of Southern California and coached by George Quintero, which has produced a stable of Division I and WNBA players.
