Box Score Stockton, Calif. - Pacific heads back to Palo Alto, Calif. and the Varsity Hockey Turf at the Stanford campus for a designated home contest with VCU on Friday, September 6th at 3pm. Pacific and VCU have met four times in the past, the last meeting a 3-0 victory by VCU over the Tigers in Richmond, Va. during the 2011 season.
The Rams are 0-1 on the season after dropping a 4-2 decision to William and Mary last weekend. Forward Kendell Combs and defender Stephanie DeMasi are key returners from a squad that went 13-5 last year but lost their top four scorers to graduation.
Pacific will look to rebound from a pair of losses over the weekend. NorPac West Rookie of the Week freshman Katharine Egan will look to add to her point total as seniors Paige Counsman, Melissa Maultsby, Maggie Grindatti, Katelyn Tatar and Emily Tregoning provide leadership on the forward line and in the midfield.
The Tigers will seek to continue to get production from a wide range of players. A total of 21 different players have seen time for the Orange and Black so far this season, including five true freshman.
Pacific will return to Stanford on Sunday, September 8th for an 11am contest against No. 20 New Hampshire.
New Hampshire is 0-3 on the season, but has faced tough road tests against Ohio State, Stanford and Maryland. Leading goal scorers from 2012 Hannah Richard and Megan Bozek return for their senior seasons and will look to pace the Wildcats again this season.
