Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific baseball team tallied three runs in the seventh inning, but their late comeback fell short as the Tigers dropped game two to Hawai'i, Saturday, 4-3.

Freshman LF Gio Brusa launched his first career home run, while sophomore RF Taylor Murphy tallied an RBI triple. CF Tyler Sullivan added RBI also drove in while while senior 3B Dustin Torchio picked up two hits in four at bats.

The Rainbows led 4-0 after the fifth. In the second inning, 1B Marc Flores hit his second home run of the season for a 1-0 lead, and Hawai'i scored two in the fourth on an RBI double by LF Kalei Hanawahine and a RBI single from SS Austin Wobrock to chase Pacific starter RHP Jake Jenkins.

A solo homer by Pi'ikea Kitamura to lead off the fifth was the lone run allowed by Pacific RHP Mike Hager, who tossed 5.1 innings of relief with one earned run allowed on five hits.

Brusa led off the bottom of the seventh with a long ball to right-center field to put the Tigers on the board. Senior 2B Tyger Pederson singled to center and Murphy smoked a triple to the right center-field gap to cut the lead to 4-2. Tyler Sullivan followed with a bunt single to bring home Murphy and pull Pacific within one. Sullivan stole second, but was stranded in scoring position.

Hawai'i RHP Scott Kuzminsky allowed just a single to 1B Erik Lockwood in the eighth, and LHP Lawrence Chew retired the Tigers in order in the ninth for his first save.

Rainbows starter RHP Corey MacDonald allowed three earned runs on seven hits to pick up the win and move to 5-5 on the year. Jenkins (0-7) took the loss.

Hawai'i improves to 11-29 overall, 5-12 in the Big West, while Pacific falls to 10-31 overall and 3-14 in BWC play.

Game three of the series is Sunday at 1 p.m. at Klein Family Field.
