Knipper Paces Pacific In First Track Competition

Stockton, Calif. – Pacific Track kicked off its inaugural season at the Delta Preview Meet in Stockton, Calif.

In the 3000m, Mia Knipper paced Pacific with 11:12.70 finish for first place. She was followed in the event with a second and third place finish from Becky Grabow and Lindsay Wourms, respectively. Grabow clocked a time of 11:16.78, followed by Wourms' 11:42.86.

Knipper said of her day, "It was a great preview to the season.  It felt great having Becky [Grabow] by my side.  We took turns drafting and ended up with a great race. It was a privilege to be part of Pacific's first women's track team"

In the 100m the Tigers saw former field hockey captain Jenna Vivian finish in fifth with a time of 14.13.

Head coach Josh Jones was pleased with his team saying, "The ladies ran great, it was a training race, the first half we ran at a 5K pace and the second we just raced. The ladies did exactly what they were supposed to do. Plus we made history today as being the first ever Pacific track team." He added, "I am looking forward to next week when we let the ladies run all out.
