Durham, NH, - Pacific Field Hockey dominated all parts of the game in its first contest out of California against the Siena Saints on Thursday, September 13. When it was all over the Tigers ended up on top 4-1 while allowing just one shot on goal.

The victory improved Pacific to 3-3 on the season, while Siena dropped to 0-3.

Junior and the team's leading scorer Emily Tregoning got the Tigers on the board first just under six minutes into the contest with her third goal of the season. The score came after the Tigers drew a penalty stroke. It was Tregoning redeemed herself at the line after cracking the cross bar against No. 10 Northwestern earlier this season. 

The Tigers' offensive fury would not stop, at the 18:55 mark junior Melissa Maultsby netted her second score of the season after receiving a dime from junior Paige Counsman. Then, with the clock winding down in the first half the Orange and Black put the game away when Counsman ripped a shot that deflected off the Saints' goalkeeper and into the cage.

The Tigers' defense was as dominate as the offense. The stingy defense did not allow a shot in the entire first half.

Then, 34 seconds into the start of the second half Samantha Romero received a pass from Maultsby in the middle of the circle. She ripped a shot to the bottom left corner of the cage to beat the keeper and give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.

The only shot on goal the Saints took found the cage at the 56th minute to put the score at its final mark, 4-1.

Pacific as a team took a season-high 19 shots, including 11 being on goal.

The Tigers will look to continue their momentum tomorrow, Septemeber 14 against No. 21 New Hampshire beginning at 4:00 pm PST.
