Stockton, Calif. – Pacific Baseball returns to Klein Family Field for a three-game set against the Blue Jays of Creighton open Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday, game two will start at 2 p.m, with a 1 p.m. first pitch for Sunday's game three.
The Tigers are back at Klein following a three-game road trip at Kansas State and a midweek matchup at San Francisco.
Pacific will send Michael Benson to the hill in game one. The freshman right-hander allowed one earned run in seven innings in his last start, a 7-2 Pacific win at Kansas State last Friday. He struck out five Wildcats against five hits, lowering his ERA to 2.08 and improving to 1-1 on the season.
Creighton will start lefty Ty Blach, who owns a 1.86 ERA and a 1-1 record on the season. In 19.1 innings pitched, he's struck out nine against five walks. Blach, a 6-1 junior tossed 6.1 innings against UC Davis last Friday, allowing three earned runs in a no-decision. He allowed eight hits and struck out one.
On Saturday, Tigers' junior LHP John Haberman takes the bump for Pacific. On the season, he has a 5.74 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 15.2 innings on the year. In his last outing, he lasted only 2.1 innings after a brilliant 7.1 inning performance at San Diego State the previous Saturday. His record sits at 0-1 on the season.
Creighton RHP Andrew Urban with throw either Saturday or Sunday for the Bluejays. The 5-11 junior is 0-1, but has a 1.29 ERA on the season. He tossed four innings against UC Davis on Sunday allowing one earned in a no decision.
The Tigers' Sunday starter is listed as TBA.
Creighton enters the series at 5-5 on the year, and will be playing the final three games of an eight-game California road trip. The Bluejays took two out of three from UC Davis last weekend, before falling to Cal on Tuesday and Sacramento State on Wednesday.
Pacific enters at 2-11.
