No. 19 Tigers Cruise Past Brown, 10-5, at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - Taking on Brown University in the first game of the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, February 12, Pacific's women's water polo team defeated the Bears 10-5. With the win the Tigers improved to 3-3 on the season.

In the win over the Tigers shut out the Bears 2-0 in the first quarter. Pacific kept up its offensive momentum in the final three frames, outscoring Brown 8-5 to cruise to the 10-5 victory. Defensively freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) had a stellar day in the cage recording seven saves in the first half while giving up one goal to the Bears.

Individually the Tigers were led by Jessica Loper (Napa, Calif.) who scored three goals apiece. Also tallying a pair of goals for the Tigers were Brittany Lloyd (Orinda, Cailf.), Elise Martin (Calgary, AB, Canada) and Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii), while Bethany Quertermous (Humble, Texas) found the back of the net once. Freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) recorded 11 saves in the cage for the Tigers.

Pacific will be back in action on Saturday, February 12, when they wrap up the first day of action at the Princeton Invitational with a contest against Villanova. The game is scheduled for 1 pm PST.
