Box Score Evanston, Ill. – The Pacific Field Hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision at No. 20 Northwestern on Friday, Oct. 21. Pacific dropped to 2-11 on the season, while Northwestern improved to 11-6 with the non-conference victory.
Junior Jenna Vivian had the Tigers' first shot, missing just wide on the chance to give Pacific the lead four minutes into the first half. The Wildcats took an early 1-0 lead on a goal from Kelsey Thompson 10 minutes into the contest. Nikki Parsley and Chelsea Armstrong each added two goals to round out the Wildcat scoring. Junior Dinah Compton had two shots for the Tigers. Freshmen Kayley Brown and Tarah Trotter, along with junior Emily Trudeau each notched one shot for Pacific.
Junior Ashlee Schlesier had 15 saves for the Tigers, including a save on a penalty shot by Parsley in the first half. Senior Amanda Spellman had two defensive saves for the Tigers.
The Tigers are next in action against No. 11 Iowa on Sunday, Oct. 23. Sunday's match is scheduled for 10:00 AM PST and will also take place in Evanston, Ill. on Northwestern's Leonard B. Thomas Athletic Complex (Lakeside Field).
The Tigers return to Stockton for their final home contest against UC Davis on October 29 at 1:00 PM PST. It is their annual Pink Game to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. It is also one last chance to recognize the senior class on their home field.
