Final Stats
The Pacific Tigers field hockey team won their first game of the year, a 4-2 decision over St. Louis, in a game played Saturday, September 25th 2010. With the win, the Tigers improve to 1-7 on the year.
Sophomore Jenna Vivian (Gilroy, Calif.) led the Tigers charge, opening the scoring in the 13th minute off a pass from senior Kelly Perkins (Gilroy, Calif.). Twelve minutes later, senior Megan Pedersen (Escondido, Calif.) scored her first career goal off a set up from sophomore Emily Trudeau (San Jose, Calif.). St. Louis would come back and score the first two goals of the second half sixty seconds apart to tie the score up.
However, the Tigers showed their resiliency. Junior Robin Nelson (Morgan Hill, Calif.) scored her first goal of the season to give Pacific the lead for good, and Vivian would round out the scoring with a final goal in the 55th minute.
Defensively, junior Amanda Spellman (Gilroy, Calif.) recorded a defensive save, while sophomore Ashlee Schlesier (San Diego, Calif.) recorded her first win of the year while also saving eight shots.
For the Billikens, Nicole Kent recorded a goal and an assist while goalie Alex Labarge saved five shots.
The Tigers round out their Missouri road trip Sunday, September 26th with a match against Missouri State.
