The Pacific Field Hockey team closed out their exhibition schedule with a 2-1 loss to NorPac rival UC Davis at Brookside Field.
UC Davis scored 11 minutes into the game, when Cloey LemMon picked up a loose ball in front of the net and put the Aggies on the board.
With five minutes left to go in the first half, Pacific tied the score. Freshman Alohilani Ornellas (Escondido, Calif.) gathered in a pass from senior Sarah Miceli (Los Gatos, Calif.) off a penalty corner to close out scoring in the first half.
Five minutes into the second half, UC Davis would take the lead for good when Maggie Berry picked up a loose ball in front of the Tigers goal and scored.
All three goalies saw action for the Tigers, with sophomore Stephanie Douglass (Saratoga, Calif.) recording three saves, and senior Christina Niccum (Simi Valley, Calif.) and sophomore Ashlee Schlesier (San Diego, Calif) recording two saves each.
Offensively, Pacific had eight shots, five of them on goal. Goal-scorer Ornellas had three shots, two of them on goal. Freshman Emily Tregoning (San Jose, Calif.) and Miceli each had two shots, and Victoria Matsumoto (Vista, Calif.) had one.
Pacific finished up their exhibition schedule and now prepares for their regular-season opener, a NorPac contest August 27th at 4 p.m. against Stanford at Brookside Field.
