Delaware Proves Tough Test For Tigers

Newark, Del. - Pacific field hockey saw an end to their two game winning streak with a 2-0 loss to Delaware Friday, October 8th 2010. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 2-8 on the season.

The Tigers gave up a goal in the 4th minute to Melissa LeNoir, and one in the 25th minute to Brooke Simonovich. Despite playing the Blue Hens scoreless through the rest of the contest, Pacific was unable to get their offense on track.

The Tigers recorded five shots on the day, and two on goal. One of the shots on goal came from Victoria Matsumoto (Vista, Calif.) and the other came from Robin Nelson (Morgan Hill, Calif.). Goalie Ashlee Schlesier (San Diego, Calif.) played all 70 minutes, and recorded nine saves.

The Tigers will have to regroup quickly, as they face the No. 2 team in the nation, Maryland, Sunday October 10th. Game time is 9 a.m. PST. Pacific rounds out its road trip on Monday, October 11th with a game against the Towson Tigers, also at 9 a.m.
