Tigers Fall On The Road To Stanford

Stanford, Calif. - The Pacific Field Hockey team fell to Stanford 6-0 in their final regular season road contest Sunday, October 24th 2010. With the loss, the Tigers record stands at 2-13, 0-5 in the NorPac conference.

Stanford, boasting one of the most potent offenses in the nation, got started early when Devon Holman scored 54 seconds into the game. Stanford would add one more goal before the half to lead 2-0. In the second half Stanford would run off four more goals to provide the final margin.

For the Tigers, senior Kelly Perkins (Gilroy, Calif.) took three shots and freshman Alohilani Ornellas (Escondido, Calif.) took two shots. Junior Robin Nelson (Morgan Hill, Calif.) recorded a defensive save.

In goal, sophomore Ashlee Schlesier (San Diego, Calif.) got the start and recorded 15 saves.

The Tigers finish up the regular season at home against UC Davis Saturday, October 30th at 1 p.m. for Tigers Play Pink. Pacific will also be honoring their four seniors, Kelly Perkins, Megan Pedersen (Escondido, Calif.), Sarah Miceli (San Jose, Calif.), and Christina Niccum (Simi Valley, Calif.) for Senior Day.
