The Pacific Field Hockey team lost to NorPac West division leader Cal 3-0 Friday, October 22nd in a game played at Brookside Field. The Golden Bears got on the board in the seventh minute and never looked back. Pacific fell to 2-12 overall and 0-4 in NorPac play, while Cal improved to 8-7, 5-0 in the NorPac.
Senior Kelly Perkins (Gilroy, Calif.) took a shot on goal and Sophomore Jenna Vivian (Gilroy, Calif.) took two shots, but both of the Tigers leading scorers were unable to get past Cal goalie Maggie Hand, who recorded saves on all three shots.
For the Tigers, senior Christina Niccum (Simi Valley, Calif.) started in goal and recorded eight saves. Late in the second half, Niccum recorded back to back diving saves to keep Cal from adding to their lead.
The Tigers finish up the regular season with two final NorPac conference games. On Sunday, October 24th, the Tigers head to Stanford to take on the Cardinal. Pacific will finish up the regular season on October 30th, when the Tigers play pink and host UC Davis.
