College Park, Md. - The Pacific field hockey team lost to No. 2 Maryland 11-2 Sunday, October 10th, 2010. The Tigers gave up a season high in goals and fell to 2-9 on the season.

Senior Kelly Perkins (Gilroy, Calif.) scored both goals for Pacific, a goal in the first half and a goal in the second half. Senior Christina Niccum (Simi Valley, Calif.) started in goal for the first time this season and saved 19 shots against a relentless Maryland attack.

For the Terrapins, Jemma Buckley had a hat trick, and Jill Witmer and Megan Frazer scored two goals apiece. Maryland took 43 shots, compared to seven for the Tigers.

Pacific rounds out their three game road trip against Towson Monday, October 11th, 2010.
