Sonoma, Calif. - The Pacific women's water polo team lost a close game to Cal Lutheran 5-3 in the first game of the Seawolf Splash on Sunday, Feb. 22. The Tigers fell to 3-6 on the season with the loss, as the Regals climbed to 3-3 on the year after their win.
The game proved to be a defensive battle, as Cal Lutheran edged Pacific in the second quarter, when the Regals scored three goals on the Tigers. Pacific was never completely able to rally back as Cal Lutheran matched Pacific's goal in the third quarter, keeping their lead and securing the win. Junior Jessica Safir (Los Gatos, Calif.), sophomore Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) and freshman Allison Kosich (Stockton, Calif.) each netted one goal in the loss.
Pacific plays next at the Seawolf Splash against Colorado State on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1:50 p.m.
