Stockton, Calif. - Playing in their first game in two weeks, the Pacific field hockey team fought hard but fell to conference rival No. 13 Stanford 3-0 Sunday afternoon on Brookside Field. The Tigers record drops to 3-7, 2-2 in the NorPac.

Freshman goalie Ashlee Schlesier (San Diego, Calif.) held the Cardinal scoreless for the entire first half, grabbing eight saves off 11 shots.

Stanford (11-2, 3-1 NorPac) found the back of the goal on their 12th penalty corner of the day. Jaimee Erickson and Camille Gandhi assisted Becky Dru's seventh goal of the season for the first goal of the game.

Schlesier snatched four more saves before Xanthe Travlos chipped in her sixth goal of the season after a penalty corner to put Stanford ahead 2-0. The freshman then faced off against Travlos again for a penalty stroke and won the battle for her 18th and final save.

Senior Lisa Muhl (Harleysville, Pa.) grabbed her fourth defensive save of the season on a shot by Gandhi, but Midori Uehara earned the Cardinal's last goal with less than three minutes remaining to close scoring and secure the win.
