San Diego, Calif. - The Pacific women's water polo team concluded its 2008 season with a 10-7 loss to the No. 17 UC Santa Barbara in consolation round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Tournament on Friday, April 25.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-27 on the season, while UC Santa Barbara moved to 6-19 overall.

The Tigers scored the first two goals of the game, but the Gauchos responded with a pair of their own to knot the score at 2-2 at the end of one. In the second quarter, Pacific held UCSB scoreless in the period while notching two tallies of its own to go into halftime ahead 4-2.

The Gauchos responded in the third period with five goals while holding the Tigers to just two. Carrying a slim 7-6 lead into the final stanza, the Gauchos scored three goals in the first four minutes of the quarter and allowed just one Pacific goal with 1:30 remaining to emerge with the decision.

Senior Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.) led the Tigers with three goals in her final game with the Tigers. Fellow senior Jocelyn Gray (Strathmore, Alberta, Canada) nabbed six saves in her final game in goal for Pacific.
