Tigers Fall to No. 4 USC, 18-4

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's water polo team fell to No. 4 USC on Mar. 9 by a score of 18-4 at Chris Kjeldsen Pool in Stockton, Calif. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 3-12 on the year and 0-7 in MPSF action; while the Trojans improved their record to 12-4 overall and to 5-0 in the MPSF with the win.

USC came to Pacific after defeating No. 3 Cal on the previous day and the Trojans continued building momentum with their win against the Tigers as ten different athletes scored in their 18-4 victory. Junior Michelle Stein led the Trojans with four goals in the contest, while four different Tigers recorded single scores for the Pacific offense in the loss.

Scoring for the Tigers was senior Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.), sophomores Alex Kutac (Houston, Texas) and Jessica Safir (Los Gatos, Calif.), and freshman Siobhan Larsen (Mundelein, Ill.). Fletcher netted her lone goal of the contest in the first, while Kutac nabbed her goal in the second and Safir and Larsen both scored in the fourth.

The Tigers will return to action on Mar. 14 with a pair of games against San Diego State and Princeton in San Diego, Calif. The game against San Diego State will start at 12:00 p.m., while the game against Princeton will start at 4:00 p.m.
