Tigers Fall at No. 6 San Diego Sate, 14-6

San Diego, Calif. - The Pacific women's water polo team fell at No. 6 San Diego State 14-6 on Friday, Mar. 14. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 3-13 on the year and 0-8 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation; while the Aztecs improved their record to 17-2 overall and to 4-1 in the MPSF with the win.

The Aztecs started out quickly, taking a 4-0 lead after one quarter. Sophomore Alex Kutac (Houston, Texas) scored the first of her two goals in the second period, but the Tigers were out-scored 4-2 in the period as San Diego State took an 8-2 halftime lead.

A six goal third quarter gave the Aztecs a 14-4 lead before the Tigers out-scored San Diego State 2-0 in the fourth period for the final margin.

Kutac and freshman Meara McCarthy (Simsbury, Conn.) each scored two goals for the Tigers.

The Tigers will return to action on Mar. 14 with a game against Princeton in San Diego, Calif at 4:00 p.m.

SDSU: 4 - 4 - 6 - 0 = 14
