Tigers Fall to No. 4 Hawaii in MPSF Home Game, 22-8

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's water polo team lost their third consecutive game to a ranked MPSF opponent on Feb. 6, when they lost to No. 4 Hawaii by a score of 22-8 at Chris Kjeldsen Pool. The Tigers fell to 0-3 on the year with the loss, while Hawaii advanced to 1-0 on the year with their victory.

In the contest, five of the Tigers' eight goals were scored by freshman as Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) scored her first three goals of the season and Bridget Geck (Huntington Beach, Calif.) added two of her own in the loss.

The Pacific offense was rounded out by two goals from Kellie Fletcher, who now has six on the season, and Alex Kutac who scored once in the contest. The Tigers' defense was anchored by Jocelyn Gray (Strathmore, Alberta, Canada), who recorded nine saves in the game.

Hawaii jumped out early on the afternoon by nabbing a 6-2 advantage after the first period and extending that lead throughout the game. The Rainbow Wahine were led with four goals by Angela Turnbull.

The Pacific women's water polo team will next be in action on Feb. 9, when they take on Monterey Bay at 12:00 p.m. and Sonoma State at 4:00 p.m. Both games will be played in Chris Kjeldsen Pool on Pacific's campus in Stockton, Calif.
