Stanford, Calif. - The Tigers lost to their fourth straight game against a top ten ranked opponent on Feb. 16 with a 16-2 loss to No. 3 Stanford in Stanford, Calif. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 1-5 on the year and 0-4 in MPSF action, while the Cardinal improved to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in MPSF play with their victory.
Stanford jumped out to an early lead in the contest as they scored eight unanswered goals to start the first period. Senior Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.) finally stopped the run by putting the Tigers on the board with 51 seconds left in the first. Fletcher now has 11 goals on the season.
Sophomore Alex Kutac (Houston, Texas) also scored for the Tigers later in the game, but the Cardinal offense proved to be too much for Pacific as three Stanford players finished the day with hat tricks.
