Junior Katy McDonough Named NorPac Offensive Player of the Week

Oct. 13, 2008

Radford, Vir. - Pacific junior Katy McDonough (Ventura, Calif.) picked up her first NorPac Offensive Player of the Week Award and her fourth overall NorPac Player of the Week award on Monday, Oct. 13.

McDonough earned the honor as she notched two goals and an assist to lift Pacific to a 4-2 win over Davidson in the Tigers only contest during the week of Oct. 6-12. With Pacific trailing 1-0 on Sunday, Oct. 12, McDonough pulled the Tigers even just past the nine minute mark. McDonough redirected a shot from senior Erica Nestle (San Jose, Calif.) from the right side to tie the score at 1-1. Later in the first half, McDonough repaid the favor by finding Nestle in front of the goal to set up Pacific's second goal of the game.

Later in the contest with the Tigers clinging to a 3-2 lead, McDonough McDonough closed the door on the Wildcats with her second goal of the contest on an unassisted shot from the left side at 66:36, to give the Tigers their 4-2 victory.

McDonough and the Tigers return to the field on Thursday, Oct. 16 as Pacific travels to North Carolina for three contests this week. The first game will be at Appalachian State on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. (ET)
