No. 11 Pacific Falls To No. 3 UC Irvine In Three Games

STOCKTON, Calif. - The No. 11 Pacific men's volleyball team fell to 8-7 overall and 6-5 in MPSF action with a 30-23, 30-20, 30-25 loss to No. 3 UC Irvine (15-3, 9-3 MPSF) on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

The Tigers struggled to get things started tonight coming off of there emotional victory over UCLA Friday evening, as the Tigers hit just .127 for the match, recording 35 kills and 25 errors in 79 total attacks.

On the other side of the net, UC Irvine, who was looking to avenge a loss from a weekend ago to the Tigers, hit .430 for the match, recording 45 kills with 11 errors on 79 total attacks.

The Anteaters were led by Matt Webber, who totalled 13 kills with just one error on 21 swings. Aaron Harrell added six kills and seven block assists for the Anteaters.

The Tigers were led by senior opposite Matt Cornell (Granada Hills, Calif.) who totalled 12 kills while hitting .333. The Anteaters held reigning co-MPSF Player of the Week Pekka Seppanen (Kuopio, Finland) to just six kills on 16 swings.

Pacific is next in action as they travel to No. 2 Pepperdine on Friday, February 23rd. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
