STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's volleyball team has announced the hiring of assistant coach Gabe Wagner, as announced by head coach
Devin Young on Wednesday morning.

During his time at Southern Virginia, his teams consistently competed among the top programs in Division III volleyball. We're grateful to add someone with Gabe's experience, leadership, and passion to our gym."
Wagner began his career in August 2017 for Rush Volleyball Club based out of Queen Creek, Arizona. From 2017-2019, he served as the 14U head coach with one season spent as an assistant coach for the 18U team. In January 2020, he joined SVU as a setter/libero for the men's team and played for three seasons.
Following the 2022 season, Wagner stepped off the court and onto the bench as the assistant coach for the team where he coached the team from 2022-2025 and was elevated to Associate Head Coach after the 2025 season. During his time within the program, SVU amassed a record of 111-12 (.902), including two conference championships, and the 2025 Division III National Championship. The 2024 SVU squad broke an NCAA record with 60 consecutive sets won, the record was broken again by the 2025 SVU squad with 69 consecutive sets won.
Furthermore, Wagner spent two seasons as the head varsity coach for Rockbridge County High School girls' volleyball team. Wagner finished his first season with District Coach of the Year honors.
Wagner earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Southern Virginia. Outside of volleyball, Wagner enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole and making pottery.
