The Pacific men's volleyball team finished their weekend 2-0 by sweeping the seventh ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 30-27, 30-22 and 30-28. The Tigers claimed their sixth home win of the season and moved their record to 7-13 overall.
Senior Brian Adamson once again led the Tigers, recording18 kills and Blake Gentry had a career-high eight kills.
Pacific never trailed in game one as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Adamson had four kills and two blocks. The Gauchos had seven of their 18 attack errors in the first set. In game two the Tigers built up a 10-point led and never allowed UC Santa Barbara back into the game, winning 30-22. They completed the sweep in the third set as Adamson finished with nine kills and Mitchel Hazelett recorded 20 assists.
Evan Patak led the Gauchos with 27 kills on 50 attempts on the night but could not help Santa Barbara's cause as they fell to 12-10 overall and 8-8 in the MPSF.
The win is Pacific's sixth home win this season; the Tigers also avenge their previous meeting with the Gauchos in Santa Barbara earlier this season.
The Tigers are back in action with two home dates with Hawai'i on March 25th and 27th.
