Stanford, Calif. The Pacific women's water polo team fell to No. 3 Stanford on February 4th by the score of 17-2 at the Avery Aquatic Center on the campus of Stanford University.
With the loss, the Tigers fell to 0-1 on the season, 0-1 in MPSF play, while Stanford moved to 1-0, 1-0 in MPSF play.
Sophomore Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.) tallied both Tiger goals in the final period, after Stanford scored the first 14 goals of the match.
Senior Julia Snyder (Fresno, Calif.) led the Tigers defensive charge, and also recorded won two sprint victories in the first half of play.
Stanford was led by Jacquelyn Gauthier's four goals, and keeper Meredith McColl, who held the Tigers scoreless in the first three periods before being removed.
Pacific is next in action on Thursday, February 9th as they host Hawaii in a MPSF game at 4pm at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.
