Box Score

Reno, Nev. - Behind another stunning performance from freshman Ty'Relle Harris (Fairfield, Calif.) and two key hits from junior Clint Eastman (Pleasanton, Calif.), the Pacific Tigers baseball team defeated Nevada, 2-1, on Sunday, Feb. 26.

With the win the Tigers moved to 9-4 on the season, while Nevada fell to 4-8.

Harris continued his impressive season on the mound as the right hander allowed one run on three hits in 8.1 innings to move to 3-0 on the season. The freshman hurler has won each of his three starts this season and dropped his team-leading ERA to 1.14.

Offensively the Tigers broke through in the top of the seventh inning as Eastman led off the inning with a bloop single into right field. Eastman advanced to second on a wild pitch. One out later, Eastman went to third as sophomore Adam Ching (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) grounded slowly to short. With two men down, senior Anthony Jackson (Modesto, Calif.) laced the first pitch he saw into center field to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers added to their lead in the top of the ninth as Eastman once again got things started with a leadoff double down the right field line. One out later, Ching doubled down the left field line to make it a 2-0 contest.

Nevada scratched across a run in the ninth inning, but senior Eric Stolp (Oakhurst, Calif.) nailed down the victory allowing one run in two-thirds of an inning for his first save of the season.

The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 28, as Pacific hosts Saint Mary's at 6 p.m. in Stockton Ballpark.
