Northridge, Calif. -
Despite a combined 57 kills from outside hitters Brian Adamson (18), Andreas Baboulidis (19) and Pekka Seppanen (20) the Pacific men's volleyball team fell 35-33, 17-30, 27-30 and 23-30 to Cal State Northridge, January 28.
The Tigers claimed game one of the match, scoring seven of nine points to push the set past 30 and clinching the win on a Seppanen block of Northridge's Dan Rhodes. However, Pacific suffered a 13 point defeat in game two and could not come back in games three or four either.
Junior transfer Garrett Morales assumed the setter position for tonight's game, setting up 68 assists on 126 attempts; mostly to the trio of Adamson, Baboulidis and Seppanen. The loss to Northridge was the Tigers' second of the year to the Matadors, falling previously in three games in the first round of the Elephant Bar Tournament earlier this month in Santa Barbara, California.
The loss drops the Tigers to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the MPSF while Cal State Northridge improves to 2-2 in the conference and 6-3 on the season.
