ANNAPOLIS, Md The Pacific Tigers men's water polo team split two games on Sunday, Sept. 4 in the final day of action at the Navy Invitational. Following Sunday's action the Tigers are now 3-1 this season.
In the first game of the day, Pacific fell to host, Navy, 7-5.
The Tigers rebounded against St. Francis as Pacific was victorious 10-8.
In the opener against Navy, the Midshipmen jumped ahead early 2-0 after one quarter of play. However, the Tigers clawed their way back into the contest, eventually tying the game at five at the end of the third quarter. Navy responded with the next two goals and held Pacific scoreless over the final quarter of play to collect the 7-5 win. The Tigers failed to capitalize on eight man-up opportunities.
The second game of the day also saw Pacific dominate the middle two periods as the Tigers outscored St. Francis 7-2 in the second and third period to build a 10-4 lead. Pacific held on to win the game, 10-8.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 10 as Pacific open's its home season with a matchup with No. 2 Cal at 12 p.m.
