The Pacific Tigers field hockey team fell to the Michigan Wolverines 3-0 in a hard fought contest Sunday at Maxwell Field.
The Tigers, playing #10 ranked Michigan, managed to hold the Wolverines to only 11 shots while putting up seven themselves but could not manage to find the goal. Michigan dropped in two goals midway through the first period and added a final score with under thirty seconds to play in the game.
Michigan's Kara Lentz scored the games first goal with 12:17 to go in the first period and Stephanie Hoyer redirected a Erin Dallas shot wtih 8:43 left on the clock for her first goal of the game. Hoyer added the Wolverine's third goal in the waning seconds off an assist from Katie Morris.
Jennifer Chaney led the Tigers with team-high three shots but the Tigers could not capitalize as they attempted only two penalty corners compared to Michigan's six.
The Tiger's close out their regular season as they return home Saturday, Oct. 29, to take on NorPac rival Radford. Pacific needs a victory over Radford to clinch the regular season NorPac title and a first round bye in the NorPac tournament.
