Pacific field hockey continued its NorPac Conference dominance Sunday as the Tigers handed Davidson a 3-1 loss in Williamsburg, Virg.
The Tiger's fell behind early on as Kayli Maxwell scored the games first goal nine and a half minutes into the game but the Tigers rebounded quickly as seniors Dana Walsh (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Kaily McGrath (Somis, Calif.) hooked up off a penalty corner to tie the game at one 15:22 into the game. McGrath's goal was the first of the defender's career.
Sophomore Melody Demel (Fallbrook, Calif.) then added to the Tiger total three minutes later as she scored her first goal of the season off an assist from junior Marissa Atilano (Escondido, Calif.). However the first half would not end until Atilano got back into the action and scored with two minutes remaining off an assist from Jennifer Chaney (Campbell, Calif.). The goal was Atilano's fourth of the year and Chaney's school record eighth assist.
The win improves the Tiger's NorPac conference record to 4-0 and 6-9 overall.
