The Pacific field hockey team fell 4-0 to William & Mary, Thursday, Oct. 13 in a nonconference game in Williamsburg, Virginia. The loss drops the Tigers to 5-8 overall and improves the Tribe's record to 8-6.
During a damp and cloudy afternoon the Tigers managed only three shots on goal for the entire game while William & Mary fired off eight shots.
The Tribe scored for the first time 21 minutes into the game as Kelly Giles scored an unassisted goal. The score remained 1-0 at the half and stayed that way until five minutes after halftime when Anna Davis netted a goal off an assist from Gina Cimarelli. William & Mary upped the score to 3-0 less than three minutes later as Heather Winn netted a goal 43:11 into the game. Giles scored her second goal of the game with less than 20 minutes remaining off a penalty corner.
William & Mary attempted eight penalty corners to the Tigers' three and 11 shots to the Pacific's four.
