LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Pacific women's volleyball team was unable to get any momentum going offensively and was defeated in three sets (25-20, 25-11, 25-17) by New Mexico State on Saturday evening at the Pan American Center in game two of the Borderland Classic.

Hanna Vorhies and junior
Nicole Zake were the most effective Tigers (4-4) across the evening, pacing the team with six kills each. Junior
Alessia Couchond led the team with ten assists while sophomore Bella Guiterrez again paced the Tigers defensively with 16 digs while freshman
Vanessa Zussino reached double digit digs for the first time in her collegiate career with at ten digs.
Sophomore
Olga Gergacz tallied her first kill of the season and fellow sophomore
Gracie Armato notched the first two kills of her collegiate career. In addition to the ten assists, Couchond posted her season high offensively with two kills.
As a team, Pacific was held to a .102 clip, its lowest of the season and was outhit by NMSU (6-4) .102-.340. The team was also outdone in kills (47-24), digs (56-44), and assists (44-21).
Despite the outing, the Tigers still have an opportunity to end the weekend on a high note, traveling back to El Paso to take on UC San Diego in a neutral court matchup. First serve from UTEP's Memorial Gym is set for 11 A.M. and will not be streamed, meaning fans will have to follow along via live stats and social media.
