SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program battled San Diego State on Thursday night, ultimately falling 7-0 at the SDSU Sports Deck.
The Tigers (0-3) fell behind early and could not catch up as the Aztecs (3-1) earned the result.
Freshman
Ava Wells kept the Tigers within reach with several key stops in her second start of the season in goal, finishing the night with a season-high five saves.
The Pacific offense collected seven shot attempts throughout the evening. Freshman
Julie Valdez and sophomore
Yohonna Bell each recorded a shot on target.
The Aztecs scored three goals in the first half, and four in the second half, beginning with a tally in the 13th minute and never looked back.
Aside from the goalkeeper Wells, junior
Abigail Seawright was the only Tiger to play the full length of the match.
While Pacific was out-shot 19-7 overall, the Tigers did manage to draw even in the corner kicks department with two apiece.
Pacific will look to bounce back on Sunday when the Tigers travel to face UC San Diego at 2 p.m. at Triton Soccer Stadium.
