SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Ending the Bronco Invitational on a high note, the No. 22 Pacific women's water polo program ousted Pomona-Pitzer 14-10 Sunday in a neutral site match-up at Santa Clara.

The Tigers (5-5) got off to a fast 4-0 start, and after Pomona-Pitzer (3-8) came back to tie it in the third quarter, Pacific pulled away in the fourth. Pacific never trailed in the contest.

Pacific's 4-0 lead came on goals from four different student-athletes including freshman
Eleni Ikonomou. The Tigers led 6-1 at the 2:55 mark of the second quarter after a strike from Ortega.

Pacific was ahead 8-4 in the third when Pomona came back with four straight to even it 8-8 at the 2:34 mark. Though, it was short-lived as the Tigers punched back with a 6-0 spurt to put the game away as Crum made it 14-8 with 5:04 left in the fourth.

Sophomore
Laurel Cooper played the whole way in net to earn the win and finished with five saves, two steals and an assist.

Pacific improved to 8-0 all-time against Pomona as it was the first meeting between the two teams since 2017. Pomona is the reigning Division III national champion after going 25-10 overall last year with a perfect 12-0 record in the SCIAC.

Up next, the Tigers will travel to Fresno Pacific for a 7 p.m. rematch Wednesday. Pacific won the first meeting this year 23-6 at home in the season opener.
