Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Bartholomew’s Big Day Not Enough for Tigers

STOCKTON, Calif. – Sophomore Winner Bartholomew exploded for a career-high 28 points but could not lead the Pacific women's basketball team to a win Saturday afternoon, taking a 74-54 loss to LMU at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

For nearly all 40 minutes the sophomore was unstoppable, converting a career high 11 of 15 opportunities and six of seven free throw attempts. Her 28 points is the most by a Tiger (7-11, 2-5 WCC) this season and the seventh most by any player in the WCC. The 11 field goals meanwhile tie for the second most in the conference this season. Also on her final line are five rebounds and two assists.

Making her first collegiate start, freshman Sophia Mindermann made an immediate impact with a career-high 17 points on 6-for-14 shooting and three three-pointers. Now with 33 triples on the season, she projects to finish with 55 threes, just two shy of cracking the number 20 spot on Pacific's single season list. In addition to her scoring, she had two rebounds and an assist.

Facilitating both Mindermann and Bartholomew was sophomore Daria Nestorov and her eight assists, a mark that ties her career high. Beyond those three running the offense, Pacific got solid contributions from junior Marina Radocaj and senior Sydney Ward on the glass, tallying nine and six rebounds respectively.

The former also got two more blocks on the season, giving her 15th place on the all-time blocks list in school history.

As a team, Pacific was outshot by LMU (11-7, 5-2 WCC) 52.5% from the field to 38.3%.

The Tigers remain at home for the next contest when Washington State comes to Stockton. Tipoff from the Alex G. Spanos Center is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
