STOCKTON, Calif. – After starting in every game the past three seasons at Maine, the Pacific men's basketball program announced the signing of Jaden Clayton to the 2025-26 roster.
Clayton, from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, becomes the second Canadian signee to be announced this week in addition to
KC Ibekwe. Clayton averaged 7.5 points and 4.4 assists per game last year at Maine and posted a 2.6 assist:turnover ratio. He scored a season-high 18 points at Brown and tallied eight double-figure scoring outings.
Clayton, a 6-1, 185-pound guard, started in all 34 games on a team that won 20 games. He helped Maine reach the championship game of the American East Tournament; it was their first championship appearance in 21 years.
"We're excited to add Jaden to our program. His ability to lead as a floor general, combined with his defensive intensity and playmaking fits our vision perfectly. Jaden's a true competitor who'll help drive our team forward," said head coach
Dave Smart.
Clayton started in all 85 contests in three years at Maine, distributing 4.2 assists per game in his career. He averaged 9.2 points and 4.0 assists per game as a junior. Clayton's career-high was 24 points as a sophomore against Bryant.
Prior to Maine, Clayton spent the 2021-22 season at Fort Erie International Academy where he averaged 19 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds a game. His squad reached the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association Championship in Canada where he was named the MVP.
Clayton was a member of the Biosteel All-Canadian Game, which featured the top-24 players in Canada.
