STOCKTON, Calif. – Transferring from Washington, the Pacific men's basketball program announced its first Canadian signee with the inking of KC Ibekwe to the 2025-26 roster.
Ibekwe is a 6-11, 285-pound center from Coquitlam, B.C., Canada. He comes to Pacific after spending last season at Washington and the previous two years at Oregon State.
"We are extremely excited to add KC to our program. He is a skilled big man with great footwork in the post and provides high-level rim protection and interior finishing. He's still only 20 years old and has a ton of upside," said head coach
Dave Smart.
Ibekwe played in 12 games for the Huskies with a season-high nine points against NJIT. Prior to that, he averaged 5.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 2023-24 at Oregon State while playing in 32 games including 22 starts. He led the team in blocks in back-to-back years with 38 as a sophomore and 21 as a freshman.
Ibekwe's Canadian ties date back to his prep days as he played for Canada in the FIBA U18 Americas Championship. He played in all six games and averaged 5.2 rebounds per outing, which included eight rebounds against Mexico. Ibekwe helped the country place third at the U18 Americas.
In high school, Ibekwe averaged 29 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks per contest at Centennial Academy and was the MVP of his league. He grew up playing soccer prior to taking up basketball in ninth grade.
Ibekwe will be majoring in Sociology at Pacific.
