SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis program put up a strong fight against San Diego but could not string together enough rallies to capture the road win, instead falling 4-0 Sunday afternoon.
The beginning of doubles looked promising for Pacific (12-7, 4-1 WCC) after junior
Tiago Silva and freshman
Vraj Patel won doubles court three 6-4. However, neither courts one nor two were able to capture the second victory to earn the point.
Once in singles, Pacific was in position to force third sets on multiple courts but courts four, five and six clinched play for San Diego (19-3) before those sets could come into play.
Up next for the team is a brief reprieve from conference play to match up with Cal Poly on Thursday. First serve from the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
