Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team flexed its grit and toughness by pulling out two three-set matches in the singles portion of Thursday afternoon's match with Cal Poly, earning the 4-2 win at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Junior
Tiago Silva and freshman
Vraj Patel followed similar paths to victory for the Tigers (13-7) – cleanly winning set one, dropping set two, and then cruising to a win in set number three. This came after the two teamed up to dismiss their opponents on court three in the doubles portion of the match.
Pacific's other singles point came from sophomore
Christof Schaertlin Coffey on court six, who won the only straight-set singles match of the entire match. The sophomore has been a point of consistency for the team, compiling an 8-2 record in his last 11 appearances.
He also played a pivotal role in the doubles portion, where he and graduate
Ran Amar tallied the point-clinching victory on court one.
Coming up next for Pacific is its senior day match against Santa Clara. Scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, Amar and senior
Justas Trainauskas will be celebrated prior to the match for all of their dedication and commitment to the program on and off the court.
