Trio of Tigers Capture Personal Milestones Across Pair of Invitationals

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's track and field completed a weekend full of major accomplishments as a trio of Tigers garnered personal bests, including a pair of broken school records this weekend in Southern California.

Junior Sophia Livingston, junior Emily Wernli and senior Dalee Higgins represented the three Tigers going the distance across the last three days at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Leopard Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific and University of the La Verne, respectively.

For the second week in a row, Livingston broke the school record in the 800-meter event at the Bryan Clay Invitational, clocking a time of 2:17.87. Livingston set a personal record for a seventh straight time in that event, shaving off .15 off her previous mark.

"It's a testament to her dedication and mental toughness," Pacific head coach Josh Jones said. "It is awesome to watch her run."

Joining Livingston in breaking a school record, Wernli did so in the 1500-meter event at Azusa Pacific with a time of 4:44.18. Wernli's previous best from 2024 was a 4:45.32. Livingston also set a personal record in that event, sprinting a 4:49.23.

"Emily ran a very smart race and it shows how talented she is," Jones said. "I'm very happy for her and excited to see what she does at the last race in two weeks."

Hggins rounded out the trio of Pacific performers with a personal record in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 19:40.19 at the Leopard Invitational.

Up next, Pacific will be at the Fresno State Invitational and the Oxy Invitational in the first week of May.
