Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Tigers Dispatch Saint Mary’s for Quarterfinal Berth

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Senior Elizabeth Elliott scored 21 points and graduate Liz Smith chipped in 18 points as the Pacific women's basketball team downed Saint Mary's 74-59 in the third round of the WCC Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Orleans Arena.

Pacific (15-17) again led the contest wire-to-wire after scoring the opening bucket 18 seconds into the game and then held the lead for 37 and a half minutes the rest of the way. Elliott continues to be a revelation for the Pacific offense on neutral courts, as she upped her scoring average at neutral venues to 16.0 points per game this season from 9.3 points per game last season.

Elliott's success underscore a Pacific attack that had its way with Saint Mary's (14-16) down low, outscoring the Gaels 42-22 in the paint.
Smith's 18 points came alongside four steals, which made her the first Tiger to reach 80 steals in a season since Valerie Higgins' 84 during the 2020-21 season.

The graduate guard also moved into fourth on the all-time scoring list and is just 9 points away from reaching 1,500 – where she would be the fourth Tiger to ever reach that milestone and the first since Selena Ho (1998-2002).

Sophomore Marina Radocaj contributed 12 points, moving the team to 5-1 in games she scores ten or more points. And with nine rebounds in the contest, tied her career-high for the third time this season (last done at Saint Mary's on Jan. 11).

The sophomore was joined on double-double watch by junior Sydney Ward and her nine points and eight rebounds. Ward also recorded two blocks and three steals, and her next block will tie Valerie Higgins for the most blocks in a single season during the head coach Bradley Davis era.

For Davis' part, the win today was his 140th, tying him with Melissa Taketa for the most all-time in Pacific program history.

The Tigers' next opponent is Washington State in the quarterfinals, where Pacific will go for a third consecutive semifinals appearance for the first time as a West Coast Conference member. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday and can be seen on ESPN+.
