Pacific Returns to Bay Area for Cal Opener

BERKELEY, Calif. – For the second time this season, the Pacific women's track program heads to the Bay Area for the Cal Opener on Saturday at Edwards Stadium. 

The Tigers will be sending seven competitors to race across eight events in what will be their fifth meet of the season.

The seven individuals heading to the Bay Area are graduate student Anahi Avila Perez, sophomore Valeria Espinoza, senior Dalee Higgins, graduate student Talia Johnson, junior Sophia Livingston, junior Emily Wernli and junior Serena Yee.

Four Tigers will compete in the 3k, featuring Avila Perez, Espinoza, Higgins and Wernli.

Johnson will go in the 100-yard dash. Livingston will run in two events: 800 meters and 1,500 meters.

Yee rounds out Pacific's team at Cal with the high jump and field jump.

Competitions will begin at 9:30 a.m. and go all day. The final schedule can be found here.
