DAVIS, Calif. – Going up against stiff competition without its full lineup, the No. 22 Pacific women's water polo program fell 15-10 to No. 9 UC Davis and 23-8 to No. 4 Cal on Saturday at the Schaal Aquatics Center, hosted by UC Davis.
Junior
Dora Alaksza stood out for Pacific (4-2) after netting 10 goals and two assists in the two games. It included a big six-goal performance against Cal (6-0).
Pacific was without a trio of key contributors including reigning Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week winner
Hila Futorian who scored 17 goals over four games last weekend. The Tigers also didn't have senior
Addison McGowan or sophomore
Ella Cowan who combined for eight goals last weekend.
Senior
Sierra Cavano and sophomore
Anna Crum tallied two goals apiece against UC Davis (6-5). Senior
Ilyana Zlobinsky, sophomore
Millie Jacobson and freshman
Kyra Lurito also found the back of the net in the contest.
Zalobinsky and Lurito followed it up with goals against the Bears as well.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Maja Lizy Dulic played the entirety of both games and totaled 17 saves. She blocked eight saves against UC Davis and nine vs. Cal.
The Tigers will close out the weekend with a 10 a.m. game against UC Merced on Sunday at the Schaal Aquatics Center in a neutral site game. Pacific's home opener is Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. against Concordia University Irvine at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
