LOS ANGELES – With pouring weather conditions outside the gym, the Pacific men's basketball program made it rain inside Gersten Pavilion in the second half Thursday and boat raced LMU in an 83-58 victory.

The Tigers (9-19, 4-10 WCC) trailed 33-24 late in the first half when it ended the frame on an 8-0 spurt, and scored the first 14 points of the second half to make it a 22-0 run and take full control over LMU (15-11, 7-7 WCC). Pacific outscored the Lions 51-25 in the second half where it shot a scorching 20-of-30 (.667) from the field and 7-of-13 (.538) from three.

LMU had no answer for junior
Lamar Washington who tallied 31 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and matched a career-high of five steals. It was the second time this year he's scored at least 30 points and both resulted in wins after he scored 40 at Washington State on Jan. 9.

Washington did a lot of damage in the second half where he was 7-of-8 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the free throw line for 18 points. Not only was he a scorer but all six of his assists came in the second half.

Washington was one of four Tigers to score in double-figures. Senior
Elias Ralph registered 15 points and seven rebounds, senior
Petar Krivokapic notched 12 points and junior
Jefferson Koulibaly recorded 10 points and five rebounds.

LMU was led by Caleb Stone-Carrawell's 19 points.

A back-and-forth first half starting with Pacific scoring the first seven points of the game, which included a three and a jumper by Washington. Though, LMU answered with a 10-0 run to go up 10-7 at the 16:20 mark.

The Tigers regained a 13-12 edge after a lay-up by Ralph with 13:39 left. However, the Lions used another big spurt to jump back ahead 24-15 at the 10:22 mark.

LMU was still ahead 33-24 when Pacific ended the half on an 8-0 run as a jumper by Washington trimmed it to 33-32 at the intermission.

The second half started with a jumper in the paint by Washington to give the Tigers the lead, which they never lost the rest of the way. A lay-up and three-pointer by Ralph made it 39-33, and the run continued with a bucket by sophomore
Jazz Gardner. The spurt concluded with field goals by Koulibaly and Ralph to make it a 46-33 game with 15:14 remaining.

Pacific wasn't done there, and in fact, it was just getting started. Three-pointers by Koulibaly and Krivokapic upped it to 58-38 with 10:46 to go. A jumper by Ralph increased it to 64-41 with 8:47 left.

Pacific's largest of lead of the night, 70-43, came on a three by Krivokapic with 7:24 remaining. Another three by Krivokapic kept it at 75-48 with 5:45 left.

The Tigers will look to keep it going when they play their second of a three-game road trip Saturday when they travel to Oregon State for a 3 p.m. game at Gill Coliseum. Pacific's next home game is Saturday, Feb. 22 when the it hosts Portland at 4 p.m. at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

NOTES
- It was Pacific's largest margin of victory on the road against a WCC opponent since the school rejoined the league in 2013-14. The last time the Tigers won a conference road game by at least 25 was Jan. 22, 2011 when it topped UC Davis 87-54. The last time they won a WCC game by 25 or more was Feb. 11, 2021 in an 84-57 blowout at home over Portland.

- Pacific won its first road game at LMU since Feb. 27, 2020 in a 60-53 decision.

- Prior to tonight, Pacific's largest scoring run of the season was a 15-0 spurt, done twice.

- The Tigers outscored the Lions 44-24 in the paint. Pacific has outscored the opposition in the paint in all nine of its wins this season.

- It was the third time this season that the Tigers overcame a nine-point deficit to come back and win. LMU was up 33-24 at the 3:26 mark of the first half before Pacific responded with 22 unanswered.

- Pacific has now surpassed its win total by three games and conference win total by four games from last year.

- Washington netted his second-highest scoring total of his career and second straight 20-plus scoring outing. He was 13-of-19 from the field. Washington entered the game ranked top-25 in the country in assists per game with 5.9 and was above par with six tonight. He turned in his third double double of the season and first in points & rebounds as his 10 boards were a career-high.

- Ralph entered the night ranked top-five in the WCC in field goal percentage (.486) and was 7-of-13 from the floor. He notched his 85th career double-figure scoring game and 25th this season.

- Krivokapic drilled a season-high four three-pointers. His 15 points were his second-highest scoring total of the year. It was Krivokapic's 10th double-digit scoring affair of the season.

- Koulibaly matched a career-high with five rebounds. He submitted his 11th career double-figure scoring outing and 10th this season.
